# How to give Claude a phone number, text and email in New Zealand **Short answer:** To give Claude a New Zealand 028 phone number, two-way SMS and an email inbox, add Agentline NZ as a custom connector: in Claude on the web or Claude Desktop go to Customize > Connectors, click + Add, choose Add custom connector and paste https://agentline.nz/mcp. Sign in with your Agentline NZ email link, then turn it on from the + menu in any chat. Custom connectors work on Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. ## Before you start - An Agentline NZ account. Start free with an email inbox (no card), or take a 7-day trial of Starter or Pro to get a number. - Your 028 number is set up within a few days of signup. Your email inbox works straight away. - A Claude plan. Anthropic says custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, and Free users are limited to one custom connector. - On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds the connector for the organisation first (see below). ## Steps 1. **Open Connectors.** In Claude on the web or in Claude Desktop, go to Customize > Connectors. 2. **Add a custom connector.** Click + Add, then Add custom connector. 3. **Enter the name and URL.** Name it Agentline NZ and enter https://agentline.nz/mcp as the remote MCP server URL. Click Continue. 4. **Check the sign-in settings.** Review the authentication settings Claude detected and click Continue. Under Authentication, choose Sign in now. Agentline NZ doesn't need your own OAuth client, so don't choose Use your own OAuth client, and leave Request headers empty. 5. **Add it and sign in to Agentline NZ.** Click Add. When Agentline NZ opens, sign in with the email link and approve access. 6. **Turn it on in a chat.** In a chat, click the + button at the lower left, open Connectors and switch Agentline NZ on. You can also type / to open the same menu. ## Team and Enterprise plans An owner adds Agentline NZ once for the whole organisation: 1. Go to **Organization settings > Connectors** and click **Add**. 2. Hover **Custom**, select **Web**, then enter the name Agentline NZ and `https://agentline.nz/mcp` and click **Add**. Each member then goes to **Customize > Connectors**, finds Agentline NZ (it usually has a Custom label) and clicks **Connect** to sign in with their own Agentline NZ account. On Team, owners and primary owners can add connectors; on Enterprise, so can custom roles that include Manage access to Libraries. ## Try it Once it's connected, ask your assistant: - "What's my Agentline NZ number and email address?" - "Draft a reply to the latest email in my Agentline NZ inbox and send it once I've approved it." - "Text my own mobile a reminder to pick up the dry cleaning at 5." ## Good to know - Claude connects to Agentline NZ from Anthropic's cloud, even in Claude Desktop. That's fine, because the MCP server is on the public internet. - You can't edit a custom connector. To change it, remove it and add it again. - Once it's set up on the web or desktop, Agentline NZ is also available in the Claude mobile apps the next time you sign in. Anthropic says adding connectors on mobile is in beta. - Standard NZ mobile numbers only (020–029). No landlines, short codes, premium or international numbers. - Local MCP servers in claude_desktop_config.json are a separate mechanism. You don't need that file for Agentline NZ. ## FAQ ### Does Agentline NZ work on the free Claude plan? Yes. Anthropic lets Free users add one custom connector, so Agentline NZ can be that one. ### Can I use Agentline NZ in the Claude mobile app? Yes, once it's connected on the web or in Claude Desktop. Anthropic says the connector is available on mobile the next time you sign in. ### Does this also work in Claude Code? Claude Code uses its own command instead.
