# How to give OpenClaw a phone number, text and email in New Zealand

**Short answer:** In OpenClaw's Control UI, go to Settings → MCP, select Add server, name it agentline, pick Streamable HTTP and enter https://agentline.nz/mcp; or run openclaw mcp add agentline --url https://agentline.nz/mcp --transport streamable-http --auth oauth and then openclaw mcp login agentline. Your OpenClaw agent can then text people from a New Zealand 028 number, handle replies and run its own @agentline.nz email inbox.

## Before you start

- An Agentline NZ account. Start free with an email inbox (no card), or take a 7-day trial of Starter or Pro to get a number.
- Your 028 number is set up within a few days of signup. Your email inbox works straight away.
- OpenClaw running. It's open source and self-hosted.

## Steps

1. **Open MCP settings.** Open the Control UI and go to Settings → MCP. Under Configured servers, select Add server. You can also use + → Connectors → Add MCP server in a chat.

2. **Add Agentline NZ.** Name it agentline, pick Streamable HTTP as the transport and enter https://agentline.nz/mcp. Choose OAuth sign-in.

3. **Sign in.** Sign in with your Agentline NZ email link. OpenClaw's docs say browser sign-in from Settings needs the Gateway's own HTTPS, loopback or published Tailscale address; otherwise run openclaw mcp login agentline.

4. **Check it.** Run openclaw mcp doctor agentline --probe, then ask your agent: What's my Agentline NZ number?

## CLI version

Stop the local Gateway first; OpenClaw's docs say CLI changes to saved servers need it stopped.

```bash
openclaw mcp add agentline --url https://agentline.nz/mcp --transport streamable-http --auth oauth
openclaw mcp login agentline
openclaw mcp doctor agentline --probe
```

To use an API key instead of OAuth, see [Connect OpenClaw to Agentline NZ with an API key](/integrations/openclaw).

## Try it

Once it's connected, ask your assistant:

- "Text me on my mobile when my parcel tracking email arrives."
- "Reply to any texts about the flat viewing with the available times, and tell me who replied."

## Good to know

- OpenClaw's openclaw mcp commands don't read mcporter's config/mcporter.json. Add Agentline NZ to OpenClaw's own MCP settings.
- An always-on agent can send a lot of messages. Transactional and assistant messages only: replies, bookings, confirmations, reminders people asked for, and codes.
- Standard NZ mobile numbers only (020–029). No landlines, short codes, premium or international numbers.
